2017 CHRISTMAS HOMELESS SHOEBOX APPEAL
The number of homeless people is increasing with the amount of people sleeping rough ranging from 12 to 27 people per day in South West Wales alone.
You can help those that are facing Christmas sleeping rough this year by donating to the 2017 Christmas Homeless Shoebox Appeal. Simply fill an old shoebox with much-needed toiletries, warm clothes and food. Pop in a Christmas card, wrap your shoebox and mark it female or male then drop it off at a collection centre, which includes our office in Port Talbot.
Suggested items include toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, hairbrush, razor, wet wipes, sanitary products, deodorant, moisturiser, lip balm, gloves, hat, scarf, socks, thermals and new underwear. Bottled water, crisps, chocolate, biscuits, cereal bars, powdered hot drink sachets, a small torch, hand warmers and roll mats are also needed.
Sales Director, Helen John says: “Everyone deserves something this Christmas. This is the third year that we have supported the shoebox appeal. Already, I am overwhelmed by the response and very grateful to everyone who has taken the time and effort to donate a shoebox. At this time of year, it is so important that we all remember those less fortunate than ourselves.”
