Client Money Handling

Payton Jewell & Caines Ltd is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).  Client money paid to PJC will be held in PJC’s client account at HSBC 13 Dunraven Place, Bridgend, CF31 1JD.  Client’s money is kept separate from office accounts and the funds for each client are recorded separately within the ledger.

 

Access to client’s funds is restricted to principals and senior employees.

 

All monies are banked promptly into the client account and the balance due forwarded to the landlord, less commissions owed and any costs incurred, within 5 working days of receiving cleared funds.  A statement of account is issued each time a payment is made out of the client account.

 

We may receive commission or referral fees from insurance companies and referencing companies and these fees as set out within the landlord section of our website.

 

Bank charges are paid by Payton Jewell Caines and any interest received is retained by Payton Jewell to cover banking charges and administration costs, unless separately agreed with the client.

 

Reconciliations are carried out weekly using a three way reconciliation between the cashbook, ledger and bank statement.

 

Reports showing monies held on a client’s account are available immediately on request.
