Members of the Porthcawl Aspergers and Autism Community are hoping to raise awareness thanks to a donation from local estate agents Payton Jewell Caines.
The group, who meet weekly at the Coast Café in Porthcawl on a Monday at 10am, are self-funding. The donation of £250.00 will allow them to organise an awareness event and fund a workshop for adults with aspergers syndrome.
Chairperson Sue Bridger says: “We meet as a group on a weekly basis to offer each other support and friendship. We are entirely self-funding so all help is much appreciated and we are very grateful to Payton Jewell Caines for their support.”
Helen John, Sales Director for Payton Jewell Caines adds: “Our community programme helps to fund local charities, education and sporting initiatives like the Porthcawl Aspergers and Autism Community. We are delighted to be able to help.”
The Payton Jewell Caines community committee meets on a quarterly basis. Local charities or fundraising initiatives should apply in writing to community@pjchomes.co.uk by 12 June 2015 to be considered for the next round of funding.
