Pupils at Cefn Cribwr Primary School are on target to raise £10,000 to develop a new sensory play area for children with special needs.
Over £7,000 has been raised to date to pay for a new sensory play area for the pupils who attend the observation unit in the school. Fundraising has included sponsored activities and donations from local companies including estate agents Payton Jewell Caines.
With 185 pupils, Cefn Cribwr Primary School has both mainstream and special needs classes. Acting head-teacher Mr White explains: “Our observation unit is in desperate need of a safe sensory play area. A building is available for refurbishment onsite so we are working hard to raise the funds needed to undertake the work.”
“With the help of Payton Jewell Caines, we have already raised £7,000 and hope to meet our target of £10,000 before the end of the academic year. We are very grateful for the support and help of local people.”
