Early Christmas Presents for Port Talbot Youngsters

Christmas has come early for children and young adults with special needs in Port Talbot.

Members of the he Special Needs Activity Club (SNAC), a registered charity formed in 1993 by parents living in the Port Talbot area, are enjoying new toys and equipment thanks to a donation from estate agents Payton Jewell Caines.

Some 60 children and young people use the Club. Facilities include arts and crafts, an indoor play area, a multi-sensory room for the therapeutic benefit of children who have sensory disorders, autism, ADHD and a chill-out room which offers children a chance to relax by playing interactive video games or by simply watching DVD’s. Activities are led by qualified and trained Playworkers and Team Leaders.

Rhiannon Davies, Project Co-ordinator says: “SNAC is a specially designed centre for children and young adults with special needs to relax, make friends and have fun in a secure centre. In common with lots of charities, we rely on donations and fundraising to pay for the much needed facilities so we are very grateful to Payton Jewell Caines for their help.”
