Supporting the charity MIND at the 2018 Cardiff Half Marathon

This year was the 15th anniversary of the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon, Wales’  largest mass participation event held on Sunday 9th October 2018. It is always an occasion worth celebrating and this year Payton Jewell Caines were delighted to support two of its participants.

Thomas John and Megan Batchelor were running for the charity MIND and were among approximately 25,000 participants taking part for many charities and worthwhile causes. Cardiff University is one of the registered charities who had members running as part of the #TeamCardiff, the funds they raised go directly towards research into major health issues such as neuroscience and cancer.  All money raised by the many different supported charities can make a real difference to many lives.

Thomas and Megan chose to run for MIND, not only because the charity means a lot to them personally, but every year one in four of us will experience a mental health problem and there are hundreds and thousands of people still in need of help and support. More information on MIND can be found on their website, please visit their website and read all about the excellent work they do.

Thomas and Megan both said  “this was the first half marathon we had ever run in and we can only describe it as a painfully awesome experience, we achieved times of 1 hr 36.15 and 2hrs 08.22 respectively which we are delighted about. The support we received not only from our friends and families has been overwhelming and we would especially like to thank Payton Jewell Caines and their staff for helping us towards our target, we eventually raised more than £1100.00. We are both thrilled to be able to give the money to this charity”.

Payton Jewell Caines are pleased to have helped and congratulate them both on what is a fantastic achievement.
